These lightweight and compact products are designed to provide increased electronics and power management—reducing weight and increasing efficiency for vehicle manufacturers in the U.S. and worldwide.
Clock Springs (Steering Roll Connectors)
The Furukawa Group is the #1 global supplier of clock springs (SRCs) which provide the circuitry to activate vehicle airbags. These components are designed and manufactured to meet each customer’s precise specifications.
We provide three types of clock springs including: spiral wound, U-turn roller type and U-turn dummy type.
Relay/Junction Boxes
Our relay and junction boxes are custom designed for distribution systems that meet each customer’s specifications. Electrical distribution methods include bus bar and electrical wiring distribution systems, and control boards with glass epoxy or metal core PCB.
Metal Core PCB
Using metal as the core provides for heat equalization of parts, enabling highly complex routing.
Electronic Control Units
We have developed our own power management technology using unique Lead-acid battery monitoring sensors and other features, centered on electronic units for body control.
Flat Harness Components
By using lighter, thinner flexible flat cables with American Furukawa’s proprietary connection technology, customers can directly mount terminals into the vehicle. This also provides space savings and helps to reduce the number of parts
Battery State Sensors (BSS)
These Battery State Sensors monitor the charging and discharging current, voltage and temperature of the battery with a high level of precision. The sensor provides battery information that is important for power management of the vehicle, as well as, helping to boost mileage and reduce carbon emissions.
